In Briefs: Bands We Love and Hate
MOLLY SCHOEMANN: Is it just me or do bands like Linkin Park, Evanescence, Papa Roach etc. all sort of sound like they are 7th grade boys who are tired of being slammed into lockers and just feel so many feelings? At least, that is what they sounded like to me while on my 8th hour of driving when the only radio station I could find besides religious stations played bands like Linkin Park, Evanescence, Papa Roach etc.
CHRIS PUMMER: About a decade ago I was driving through a REALLY empty part of New Mexico, I think between Roswell and White Sands. The only radio stations I could get were Spanish language ones, and then one that for some reason was only playing Depeche Mode songs. Nobody was speaking my language in either the literal or figurative sense. Continue reading
