CHRIS PUMMER: NHL salary cap clearing season has begun, and two teams that found themselves in the Stanley Cup Final just a year ago have had to part with key pieces of those postseason runs.

Stanley Cup Discussion

JASON CLINKSCALES: Game 2 was more of what was expected in the Stanley Cup Final; a close, speed versus power game resulting in Chicago’s 2-0 win over Philadelphia. Since this writer was completely wrong about which teams would still play into June, it would make since that he’d stick to less predictions and more about “the little things”. Such as how playing at home still means a ton in sports.

CHRIS PUMMER: It will be critical that the Flyers find some middle ground in the two styles of play. Before the Hawks prove they’re 7-1 on the road this postseason for a reason. And before the Flyers wear out their blueliners by leaning on their top four for huge minutes. And before Leighton suffers another lapse in goal. Continue reading

NHL Conference Finals
