Justin Bieber’s America
MOLLY SCHOEMANN: The leaked portions of a Rolling Stone Interview with Justin Bieber in which he discusses politics and healthcare has only confirmed what I’ve suspected for a long time now—when it comes to magazine interviews, we’ve got everything backwards.
JESSICA BADER: Molly makes a valid point about the media fixation with what famous people think about issues outside of their area of expertise. SNL: Dana Carvey/Linkin Park
COLD OPEN
ZOË RICE: Aw, a little Wayne’s World party time excellent. It’s hard not to have a soft spot for this throwback – the material was nothing new, but that’s kind of the point. I particularly enjoyed “Who’s on Firth.”

Thoughts on fake Justin Bieber speaking out in favor of Park51?
DANI ALEXIS RYSKAMP: I kind of want to ask Sullivan if he painted his hard hat with Justin Bieber’s nail polish line. Continue reading
SNL: Tina Fey/Justin Bieber
HOWARD MEGDAL: Nicely executed right-wing fantasy of what the Census is. And is there anything funnier than watching Michelle Bachmann and company realize, Wile E. Coyote-style, that making their base paranoid about the government will result in representation losses via census count?
ZOË RICE: Indeed this one was a chuckler. I looked forward to what each next inappropriate census question would be, and I was not disappointed. Finally they’ve gotten the Obama-vs.-right-wing tone and material just right. Continue reading
