Modern Family: Week 6 in Review

KIP MOONEY: After last week’s season peak, the show is finally on a roll again after a very shaky opening. The writing is simply stellar in its jokes and earned emotional payoffs.

Modern Family Season Premiere

KIP MOONEY: The show is so good that it could start to coast and it would be hard to notice, but I imagine the writers will kick things up a notch in the weeks to come.

HOWARD MEGDAL: I agree with Kip, both on the quality of Modern Family and that Running Wilde, as of yet, doesn’t fill the enormous hole left in my life by the cancellation of Arrested Development.

Just want to mention something I think Modern Family needs to be careful in avoiding- making sure a storyline has emotional payoff at the expense of the actual humor. Continue reading
