Manning vs. Manning

MIKE SILVA: You want a great quarterback? Give me Peyton. You want a championship quarterback? Give me Eli.

CHRIS PUMMER: Football being a team sport, I don’t think Eli Manning’s two Super Bowl titles puts him in the same class as his older brother. Continue reading

NFL Week 1 In Review

Packers 42, Saints 34
CHRIS PUMMER: The Packers opened the season where they left off, rolling past a very good opponent. Green Bay only narrowly made the playoffs last year and struggled at times, but that was after losing…

NFL Wild Card Weekend In Review

Seahawks 41, Saints 36
CHRIS PUMMER:
If I were imagining a Seahawks upset before Saturday’s NFC Wild Card game, the picture would have been a couple Saints turnovers early, Matt Hasselbeck game-managing his team to a few scores, and…

Jets-Patriots Rivalry

BRAD GOLDBACH: The Jets-Patriots rivalry is definitely among the best in the NFL, but I wouldn’t put it at the top of the list just yet. It does find a home among the top three in the game currently, though.

CHRIS PUMMER: The Jets-Patriots rivalry is currently the best in the NFL, because it not only pits two divisional foes from two huge media markets, but the flames of hatred have enjoyed so much extra fuel for going on more than a decade now. Continue reading

Roddy White Appreciation

BRAD GOLDBACH: Simply put, Roddy White is probably the best receiver in the NFL right now. At the very least, he has been the most consistent this season.

JASON CLINKSCALES: Despite being a first rounder in 2005 (pick #27), White was essentially a hidden gem, making his emergence all the more remarkable for himself and the Falcons. Yeah, and fantasy football geeks, too. He’s a keeper in my league. Continue reading

NFL Week 4 In Review

Falcons 16, 49ers 14
CHRIS PUMMER:
That’s back-to-back ugly wins for the Falcons (3-1), but they’ll take it. Meanwhile San Francisco (0-4)  seems happy to take a top-5 draft pick.

JASON CLINKSCALES: I listened to this game via AudioPass and just…

NFL Week 2 in Review

Falcons 41, Cardinals 7
CHRIS PUMMER:
Guess Matt Leinart wasn’t going to play any better than Derek Anderson.

ALEX PREWITT: Good that the Falcons got this out of their system after getting abused by the Steelers’ defense in Week 1.…

In Briefs: Super Bowl Predictions

JASON CLINKSCALES: I’m not big on posting scores, but since this is the proverbial gun-to-head scenario, I’ll say Indy 31 – NO 24.

HOWARD MEGDAL: Colts 38, Saints 10

CHRIS PUMMER: Saints 126, Colts -7 Continue reading
