AKIE BERMISS: At some point last week we here at PerpetualPost.com discovered a new online role-playing, empire-building game called “United States of Earth.” Which, when we clicked through to it, appeared to be an elaborate Obama-bashing game styled after Age of Empires or Warcraft. Somehow it has a real life politcal tie-in as well. That is, the game is meant to work as an educational and recruiting tool for what can only be described at ribald, independent, mindless patriotism. Sure, sure — I say that, but you don’t have to take my word for it. The site if full on wonderful exclamations about how this could actually come to pass!
DAVE TOMAR: Truly a compelling website. I’m not much of a gamer, and I’ve never participated in an armed revolution. But combining the two. . . well it’s a good template at least. If I was a crackpot, I’d be all over this.
